Kay LaCoe | 701.400.6757 | admin@burleighcountykay.com Bismarck, ND — Kay LaCoe, a communications strategist, small-business owner, and lifelong Burleigh County resident, has formally announced her candidacy for the Burleigh County Commission. LaCoe will soon begin gathering signatures to qualify for the June 2026 primary election.

“Burleigh County has a long history of strong public service, and I’m grateful for the foundation that so many before me have built,” LaCoe said. “As our county continues to grow and change, I see an opportunity to bring new ideas and a practical, community-focused approach to county leadership. I’m eager to visit with residents, listen to their ideas, and earn their support.”

For two decades, LaCoe has worked alongside public agencies, nonprofits, and local businesses to strengthen programs, improve communication, and build collaborative solutions. She currently owns and operates LaCoe Solutions, a communications, program development, and fractional executive practice based in rural Burleigh County.

“I’m running for Burleigh County Commission because I believe in the value of local government and the importance of steady, informed decision-making,” LaCoe said. “I respect the work that has brought us to this point, and I’m ready to bring a fresh perspective to the decisions that shape our future.”

Her early areas of focus include transparent and responsible management of county funds and fostering healthy economic development that benefits residents and local businesses. LaCoe plans to continue meeting with residents, landowners, and business leaders in Bismarck and throughout the county’s rural communities to listen, learn, and shape a platform shaped by community conversations.

“I’m not running to undo what’s been done,” she added. “I’m running to contribute to the county’s ongoing progress and help ensure Burleigh remains a strong, welcoming place to live and work.”
